As previously outlined, we will be holding a Crosslink Leaders’ Gathering in June on those dates. We will be looking to follow much the same idea as we did last year. There is an addendum to this newsletter that sets out the way we are approaching leadership in the Network these days. I think it is a terrific way to do business and I was grateful for the way it happened last year. Simply put, the idea is that we are brothers and sisters in this Network. There is a Board made up of Directors who are willing to carry legal responsibility for the Company structure we operate under. Their jurisdiction is legal, financial and property. We do have legal obligations and there are finances involved. We don’t have property. It is a minimalist responsibility simply because Karen Hush, Anne Freeman and Nick Walshe do a good job each year keeping the finances in order and with Noel Levings’ help we are able to keep the Australian Securities and Industry Commission happy most of the time.
Leadership is another issue. Once again, everyone who is a member is probably not a leader. What qualifies a person as a leader of anything is that they carry the future goals and the pathways that will get us there inside of their hearts. God puts that inside them and they are aware that it is there. For a person to be a leader of Crosslink means that they know something of why God has put this Network of people together and knows something of how we can proceed so that God’s purposes are fulfilled in and through us. It is the deposit of faith and wisdom and the love that will enable it to be owned, received and shared among and out from the members. As far as I am concerned, if you have something of that inside you, then you should be planning to join with us in June. Within all of that there will be functions and areas of responsibility that we will personally carry and ways that we can sharpen support and strengthen the areas of responsibility of the others. This is a leadership community. Please consider your own heart in this matter and let us know if you plan to come.
