Crosslink National Conference 2010
From Monday, 13 September 2010 -  12:00am
To Thursday, 16 September 2010 - 11:59pm

13 July 2010 IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!

The executive has done a re-assessment of the costs and challenges associated with holding this year’s Crosslink National Gathering at the Rydges Eaglehawk Complex and we have made a decision to change the venue.  The new venue will be Grace Canberra's new auditorium, on Swanson Circuit, Belconnen, ACT.  Download the new Crosslink Conference 2010 Registration Form.

Grace Canberra has just signed a lease for a new premises which we (including the Crosslink Office) will have moved into before the time of the Conference. This venue is an improvement in many ways to the one we are currently in and will make the gathering much easier to plan and conduct.

What this all means for YOU:

1.  You will still need to book your own accommodation, and if you have already booked in at Rydges Eagle Hawk or elsewhere there is probably no reason to change, as we will hire vans to transport people so as to make this process more convenient for you. However, if you are yet to book accommodation, you are welcome to book closer to the new venue.   The hotels near the new venue are around the same cost as Rydges and the closest of them, the Belconnen Premier Inn, is very good and a very easy (under a kilometre) walk to the new venue.

2. The cost of the actual conference will now be a bit less, splease download the registration form above for details.

Please contact the office if you have any quesitons. Thank you.

11 March 2010 Update:

(Excerpt from Brian's Newsletter this date):

We are working on finalizing the details for this gathering. It was our intention to hold it even though we didn’t have one last year. It will begin on the Monday night of September 13 and conclude on Thursday night of September 16. I know that there is a great urgency for people to leave after lunch on Thursday. Sometimes that is necessary, but I am urging you to resist that temptation unless it is unavoidable. I always reckon that it there is a kind of offence created against the good people who stay through till the end. This gathering is not about you. It is about your commitment to serve others. I think it would be consistent with servant love to plan to be there at the beginning and stay till the end. Having said that, I know there are people who have unavoidable commitments and where the issue is not a lack of love but genuine priority.

One of the featured people giving input at this gathering will be a guy called Stephen Crosby from Spokane, Washington in the United States. You can look up the website that he and his wife Rita have developed for their ministry organization ( http://www.stevecrosby.com/ ). Mark Setch and I met up with Steve at a gathering of leaders we were part of in Charlotte North Carolina last September. His commitment to developing genuine new covenant expressions of kingdom ministry is so refreshing. I am sure you will enjoy his ministry. The way this came about was that he was going to be in Australia at around the time of our gathering and both Mark and I felt it would be advantageous for us to invite him to participate with us. He is a genuine relationship person and represents the “no nonsense, no hype” kind of approach that we value. He has some very sharp insights about some of the issues that we seem to be confronted with around the churches in western nations in these days and he also has a deep commitment to finding practical ways to implement the insights he has discovered.

We will have brochures and details coming to you pretty soon, so note the dates and plan to be with the whole Crosslink mob (and other fellow travellers) in September.

We are making provision for a range of accommodation options this year that will enable people to gather even though their budget is tight. Please contact Karen for any further details about this significant event for us.
